Wednesday, December 19 Advent Reflection
St. Gregory was a thinker from the early days of the Church and helped us figure out how to understand the Trinity better. When we are at Mass, we recite the creed together as a statement of what we believe — many of those words come from his thinking. He helped us see the gift we’ve been given in God’s Son, Jesus.
This is a season to recognize this gift — one way to show our gratitude is to participate in that generosity. Giving to those in need communicates something to them — it tells them that they are valued and loved, that they are not irrelevant or disposable. In this way, our generosity reveals God’s love, especially when it is offered to those most in need.
Does your school or place of work support a charity or family in need? What are the items they are asking for?
