The Feast of the Chair of St. Peter the Apostle inspired this Spotify playlist for the feast day on February 22.|Feast of the Chair of St. Peter | #GrottoMusic

The feast of Chair of St. Peter is celebrated on February 22.

While there is a physical, ancient chair in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, this feast actually celebrates the role and office of St. Peter (and his successors, the popes) in the Church. "Celebrating the 'Chair' of Peter, therefore, as we are doing today, means attributing a strong spiritual significance to it and recognizing it as a privileged sign of the love of God, the eternal Good Shepherd, who wanted to gather his whole Church and lead her on the path of salvation," Pope Benedict XVI explained in 2006.

Get to know more about chair of Peter and the popes that followed him through this Spotify playlist — featuring artists Andra Day and Strahan, and themes of hope and home.
