Bread baking has helped this family get through the pandemic while also spreading love to their community; watch more here.

Baking is an activity that many have turned to in this pandemic to fill their extra time at home. Nick and his family have found bread baking to not only be a calming activity, but also a way to stay connected with others during this time.

"Making bread for others has kind of become our little way of loving them from afar," Nick shares.

Nick: My name's Nick, and during quarantine, my family has been learning to make bread.

It's been good for us on a few levels, I think, because on the one hand, it gives us something to do when all the days are kind of starting to blend together. There's definitely something calming about kneading the dough.

But on the other hand, it's been really good because I think, like a lot of people, we've really been missing community during social distancing. And making bread for others has kind of become our little way of loving them from afar. It's like, “I'm sorry we can't come hang out right now and we can't come see you, but hey, here, have some bread.” (laughs) It's great because even though we're not the best bakers and we're still learning, nobody cares if the bread's a little overcooked or maybe a little burnt because it's homemade bread and who doesn't love that.
