Justin Martyr converted to Christianity in the second century. He's considered an early Church father because of his important and influential writings (or "apologies") defending Christianity — he was one of the first to reconcile faith with reason. He was especially passionate about defending the morality of the Christian life and about how the seeds of Christianity were planted throughout history, especially in the work of Socrates and Plato.
He was martyred in Rome by the emperor Marcus Aurelius, and is the patron saint of philosophers. Get to know St. Justin Martyr through our Spotify playlist inspired by his life and wisdom.
