The feast day St. Paul Miki and his companions is celebrated on February 6.
St. Paul Miki was a Japanese Jesuit seminarian known for his impactful sermons — many people converted to Catholicism through his preaching. On February 5, 1597, in Nagasaki, St. Paul Miki was martyred with 25 other Catholics, a mix of foreign missionaries and native Japanese converts. It is said that St. Paul delivered one final sermon on the cross before he was crucified, in which he forgave his executioners. Today, Nagasaki has the largest population of Catholics in Japan.
